During the Ski Safari Dolomites you will experience ski runs from the southern Pala Group to the Civetta and the Marmolada glacier, the highest mountain in the Dolomites mountain region. This tour leads also from Cortina d`Ampezzo to the famous Sella Ronda and into the Fassa Valley. Ski areas such as the Alpe di Lusia or the Pellegrino Pass can be included in the program.
As the organizer of the Ski Safari Dolomites tour, I also accompany you personally as a mountain guide. The tour is planned according to joint ideas and individually tailored and organized after consultation.
This ski safari is suitable for skiers with a basic fitness level for several days of skiing and/or fit skiers with advanced skills for off-piste and freeride terrains.
THE SKI SAFARI PROGRAM
Day 1: Arrival & get together in San Martino di Castrozza
Welcome aperitif with your mountain guide.
2 overnight stays in the hotel / chalet**** at 1450m with SPA, local and Italian gourmet cuisine.
Day 2: The Pala Group ski areas: Tognola – Malga Ces – Rosetta
Ski safari on the slopes of the San Martino ski area: Tognola, Malga Ces and Passo Rolle. Freeride fans can ski down the steep coloirs of Rosetta (2750m) or even cross the Pale di San Martino with a subsequent descent into Val Canali.
Day 3: From the Pale Group to the Pellegrino Pass ski area
We change the skiing areas either on ski slopes or in open terrain. Our accomodation is reachable on skis, a charming and comfortable lodge at 1900m.
1 overnight stay in the Mountain Lodge at 1,900m with gourmet dinner.
Day 4: Off to the Civetta ski area, up the Marmolada, 3250m and to Cortina d`Ampezzo!
With its 85 km of slopes and forest descents, this part of the ski safari in the central Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage is a hidden place and therefore not overcrowded. In addition, a super-long descent from the Marmolada with transfer to Passo Giau awaits us.
3 Overnight stays in the hotel****, 1,250m. With SPA area and tipical specialties for dinner.
Day 5: Around Cortina d`Ampezzo
The ascent to the mount Tofana with its gondola lift is worth the trip and offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views in the Dolomites mountain region. We find long and challenging slopes with steep descents and the possibility to try everyone’s skills on the Olympic downhill run of Cortina. And in the afternoon the north-facing slopes of Faloria are calling.
By the way, in good conditions the area around Cortina offers some spectacular freeride / off-piste runs.
Day 7: From Cortina to the Sellaronda
From Lagazuoi (2850m) we take the long and exciting descent into the ski area of Alta Badia. For me, this is one of the most beautiful ski slope on the Ski Safari Dolomites tour. While passing the steep Scotoni wall, we observe ice climbers on their ascent. We then take horses to the famous Sellaronda and continue our tour in direction Val Gardena Valley.
In the maze of slopes below the mount Sassolungo, we follow the slopes towards the Sella Pass and the Fassa Valley, to the start of our ski safari tour.
1 overnight stay in the hotel**** at 1400m.
