The Val Gardena valley in South Tyrol (Italy) offers some excellent ice climbing tours where even beginners will find, what they are looking for.
The Busc da Bleje waterfall is in few minutes on foot attainable from the parking lot. Before the adventure on the frozen waterfall really starts, some warm up sequences and an intorduction of the equipment, such as crampons and ice axes, will be preceded.
Once we arrive at the frozen waterfall Busc da Bleje, we will follow five consecutive cascades. This is a ideal area for beginners, since the difficulty and length of ice climbing increases slightly with each successive icefall. Small plateaus between the upswings invite to have a breather from time to time. The grand finale of this ice climbing tour is a free-standing frozen ice column.
The way back down takes place through an equipped abseil route in clear terrain.
As a certified IFMGA mountain guide I am not only the organizer of this ice climbing tour, but also your guidance during the day. The tour will be planned according to joint ideas and tailored to individual needs.
Please find the packing list here. Missing equipment, such as helmet, harness, crampons and ice axes can be provided.
